This battery-operated Kidde Smoke and Carbon Monoxide Alarm offers two important safety devices in one unit. This alarm includes a voice warning system that announces “fire, carbon monoxide, low battery, or smart hush activation" to give clear warning and eliminate any confusion.
This alarm uses an Ionization Sensor to detect smoke.
What's The Difference Between Ionization and Photoelectric Sensors?
Ionization Sensor smoke alarms are the most common and tend to respond faster to the smoke from fast, flaming fires. Photoelectric smoke alarms tend to respond faster to smoke from slow, smoldering fires. For the best protection, it is recommended you install both Ionization and Photoelectric alarms in your home.
This alarm uses a highly accurate electrochemical sensor to detect carbon monoxide.
To avoid confusion, this alarm announces “Fire!” when a smoke or fire hazard is detected and “Warning: Carbon Monoxide” when a CO hazard is detected.
The Test/Reset button that allows you to test the functionality of the alarm as well as reset it.
Smart Hush is a feature used to temporarily silence nuisance alarms, such as those caused by smoke in the kitchen.
To keep you safe, the alarm battery door will not close if batteries are not installed properly. In addition, the alarm is equipped with low battery warning alerts.
