Residential Cooling Rebates

Residential Cooling Rebates

You can earn up to a $450 rebate for eligible central air conditioners. Rebates also lower the initial cost of high-efficiency equipment, which costs less to operate, and it's better for the environment.

Details and Eligibility

Xcel electric customers are eligible. Many testing methods are only possible if the outside temperature is 55 degrees or higher, and rebates will not be paid until contractors have tested the unit. Please keep in mind that you may not receive your rebate until spring if you have your unit installed in the late fall or winter. Eligible Minnesota residents can receive up to $450 in rebates.

Rebate levels are determined by the efficiency rating listed on the installed equipment’s AHRI certificate. AHRI certificate efficiency ratings are based on the package of equipment installed, that includes the outdoor condenser unit, indoor evaporator coil/air handler, and furnace. An efficient furnace or evaporator coil/air handler upgrade may be necessary to achieve the rebate program SEER requirements. Consult with your contractor for details.
