Evaporative Cooling Rebates

Xcel Energy residential electric customers may be able to take advantage of an instant rebate on a new evaporative cooler.

Standard cooler rebate amount: $300 total rebate

Standard coolers may be window units or roof units and must be rated 2500 CFM (cubic feet per minute) or higher.

Premium cooler rebate amount: $675 rebate

Premium coolers are rooftop units with: 1) a remote thermostat, 2) a periodic purge pump to keep the water and pad quality high, and 3) a media saturation effective rating of 85% or higher, which ensures better water distribution, delivering better temperature drop.

Multi-ducted premium coolers rebate amount: $1200 total rebate

Multi-ducted premium coolers must have at least three supply ducts, with at least one of those supply ducts and diffusers being new.

Eligibility Requirements 

To be eligible for these rebates:

• Be a residential electric customer

• Self-install or have a rebate-knowledgeable evaporative cooling contractor install your equipment
